This volume contains detailed descriptions of Utah Valley ecology and results of excavations at several hunter-gatherer valley and upland occupations. Although the focus is on the post-Fremont or Promontory period, data on pre-Fremont hunter-gatherers are also presented. A stated goal of the work is to provide details on the material remains of Promontory Phase sites, as investigations and reports on this time period along the Wasatch Front has been largely lacking. The authors also offer insights into how hunter-gatherers adapted to the rich wetland resources of Utah Valley. The volume is abundantly illustrated.
